Yesterday was Zach’s funeral, where over a thousand people gathered to celebrate and remember him. It really puts things into perspective for me of how many lives he’s touched in the short time he’s spent with us. I can’t stop thinking about how bright his future was and how much of a star he was going to be playing baseball and just being the person he is. Sometimes I think it’s so cruel for God to take away someone so awesome, so good, so perfect… but I have no doubt that things happen for a reason, and that this is just a stage in Zach’s journey and in all of our lives too. I just can’t grasp how precious life is and how quickly it could be taken away from us.
Zach, I still can’t believe you’re not here with us anymore. I pray that you continue to watch over and bless all of your friends and family. There have been some miraculous things that happened since you left us, and I know it’s you providing us with guidance. Please take care and I’ll keep in touch.
